This week’s “tobacco ad of the day” isn’t from America in the 1950s but Indonesia in 2010. It’s an internet promotion of Gretha Zahar’s magic filters for her “divine cigarettes“, fitted with “nanotechnology” to remove all the “free radicals”. Combined with a bit of “traditional massage” using certain oils and “residues”, the smoke from the doctor’s incredible cigarettes can be blown on the patient and abracadabra! – goodbye cancer and autism.
People actually believe this, people like Australian businessman Murray Clapham, who has been promoting it through The Jakarta Post under the auspices of the Victor Chang Foundation. Nice one Murray!
